Boxmeup Uses QR Codes and Your Phone to Organize Boxes
Boxmeup Uses QR Codes and Your Phone to Organize Boxes
QR codes are great. They can contain just about any text-based information you want them to. They are quick and easy, and every smartphone on every OS has a barcode scanner app. So Boxmeup puts them to good use by cataloging your boxes.
Essentially what it is is an online database of everything that you enter. You create "containers" online, and then you can put things into those containers. Once your box is ready in the real world and online, you print out a QR code and slap it on the box. You can then use your phone to scan the QR code, and a list of everything in that box will be displayed. This way you will always know exactly what is in the box without having to open it. Extremely useful for those boxes that you label "Random Stuff".
You can also use a QR code from the website to directly log in your phone to the mobile version, allowing you the freedom to sort through boxes away from your computer. Best of all, it's free.
