Sony today unveiled a new laptop under its flagship VAIO family -- the Sony VAIO Y. Interesting thing about this machine is that its an ultraportable with an 11.6-inch display, weighing just 1.5Kg. Other flagship features include up to 6 hrs battery stamina, choice of Intel Core i3 and AMD Fusion platform, up to 500GB HDD storage and up to 8GB RAM for speedy multi-tasking. Now that's true power in a small factor!
There are two models of VAIO Y laptop -- VPCYA1V9E/B and VPCYB1S1E/S.
The first one is based on Intel Core i3-380UM 1.33GHz processor, 4GB DDR2 memory (up to 8GB), 500GB hard drive, Intel HD graphics, and 11.6” (16:9) VAIO Display (1366x768).
On the other hand the VPCYB1S1E/S features AMD Dual-Core Processor E-350 with AMD Radeon HD 6310 Discrete-Class Graphics, 2GB DDR3 memory (up to 4GB), 320GB hard drive, and 11.6” (16:9) VAIO Display (1366x768).
Other common features include WLAN 802.11b/g/n; Bluetooth 2.1; Hi-Speed USB 2.0 (x3); HDMI (Intel model); and MOTION EYE digital camera.
The Sony VAIO Y models will be available from this month.
