Samsung Galaxy Tab poised to take on Apple iPad ...







After much success in sales of their Galaxy S smartphone which sold more than one million units in less than a week Samsung is planning to launch a tablet similar to the smartphone named Galaxy Tab on August 11. It was earlier christened S-Pad.

The new Samsung Galaxy tablet may feature Google’s latest operatingsystemFroyo (Android OS 2.2) with Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI, sporting a 7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, running at 1.2GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, 16GB internal storage which is expandable using microSD and a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and a front VGA camera. And the tablet may have Wi-Fi option.

A South Korean newspaper has reported that Samsung is planning a 7-inch model to be released in August while an 8-inch and a 10-inch tablet may be released in November and December respectively. That may mean Samsung is planning a Dell Streak's bigger version and an iPad killer...
